THE WORKSHOPS

The Workshops
Write, Print, Create workshops combine creative writing with printmaking to provide you with an experience that is creative, different, educational and – most importantly of all – fun!

We are able to cater for almost everyone, including young people and adults with additional needs, and the content and outcomes can be adapted to meet the specific needs of your group.

We offer:
  • Workshops for schools
  • Workshops for community groups
  • Drop-in printmaking sessions at your fair or event
  • Creativity and wellbeing days for staff at your business or organisation

Write, Print, Create bring everything to you, including the printing presses. Built by Duncan out of 200-year-old washing mangles, these presses are fully portable and create a real talking point. We also supply all the materials, including paper and ink. All you need to provide is tables and chairs and a space to run the workshop in – and, of course, the participants!

The printing presses won't go down steps, but they will fit in most lifts, including wheelchair hoists. We will always discuss the dimensions of the potential workshop space with you to make sure the presses will fit.

Emma and Duncan both hold full Public Liability Insurance, Emma holds a current DBS check, and a risk assessment is available on request.

What does a Write, Print, Create workshop cost?
For short workshop sessions with a school, group or organisation (2-3 hours), we charge £250.

For a full day workshop with a school, group or organisation, we charge £500.

Our giant comics workshops for schools, which include printing and finishing in the studio and delivery of the completed work back to your school, cost £750.

Our prices include all materials.

Additionally, for workshops, we charge travel costs at 45p per mile.

However, we understand that funding for arts projects can vary, so if you're interested in a workshop or project but only have a set amount of funding, please get in touch to see what we can do for you.

If you'd like to book us for a drop-in session at a fair or event, please get in touch – we do not usually charge for this, but ask that you allow us to promote Write Print Create while we are there.

Past projects
2015 - present
Creative writing and printmaking workshops in schools (including special schools), libraries and community settings for young people and adults of all abilities.

2018 - present
A series of printmaking and combined writing and printmaking workshops for arts charity People Express. These have included working with older adults living with dementia, adults in care facilities and adults with autism. Outcomes have included a group poem, A Boxful of Memories and a series of images which were included in a calendar to raise money for People Express.

Summer 2018
Author and artist residency with Inspire Nottinghamshire Libraries, as part of the Reading Agency's "Mischief Makers" Summer Reading Challenge. We worked with 2 primary schools to produce 4 giant comics which were exhibited at Worksop Library, and ran 12 family comic-making workshops in libraries across Nottinghamshire.
